Help the OSU Concrete Canoe Team
The Oregon State University (OSU) Concrete Canoe Team is excited to compete at the 2018 ASCE Pacific Northwest Student Conference (PNWSC) at Oregon Institute of Technology and National Concrete Canoe Competition (NCCC) at San Diego State University. Our goal is to raise $10,000 or more to allow all students on the OSU Concrete Canoe Team to participate at these events.
The PNWSC is an annual event where approximately 16 engineering schools from the Pacific Northwest compete for one spot at the NCCC. At the PNWSC, teams competitively display and race canoes that they have designed and constructed throughout the school year. The top team from the PNWSC will advance to the NCCC, where an elite 20 schools out of over 200 teams from around the world will compete to be champions. Concrete Canoe competitions attract thousands of talented engineering students and dedicated faculty annually.
How the Funds Will Support us:
Approximately 25 students from the Concrete Canoe Team are expected to participate.
The funds that you donate will help provide funding for:
- Equipment, parts, and materials
- Registration fees to participate
- Travel and lodging expenses
Beyond the Project:
This international design-build competition provides students with the opportunity to learn structural analysis, fluid dynamics, material science, and project management skills. Concrete Canoe is also an important networking opportunity for young engineers. Please help us raise enough money to send our bright and dedicated students to represent Beaver Nation to engineering schools around the world.
And yes, it floats!
