Mentoring: Pass it on

November 18, 2016

"My experiences at Recreational Sports have given me the confidence to pursue things I never would have even considered.  I have now been an Executive Director for the past seven years of a nonprofit organization, NCompass, which supports an orphanage in Haiti. Recently, I started my own leadership and life coaching business for high school and college kids.  I am married with two beautiful children and have never been happier. The first thing I say to someone when they tell me they are going to Oregon State University for college is, 'you have to work at Recreational Sports!' "   - Joey Jenkins, Director, WorldNCompass.org

(Listen to Joey's comments about his RecSports mentor at 01:43 in his recent TedTalk video, below.)

A heartfelt reunion

November 04, 2016

The evening was filled with memories, rekindled relationships, and tales of meaningful impact, as RecSports alums gathered to celebrate 100 years of collegiate recreation at Oregon State, and to appreciate the community that has consistently focused on student well-being and success through the ages.

Meet Katie Louk: A middle-school counselor. Katie is one of thousands of Oregon State University alumni who can speak to the developmental value of their work experience at Recreational Sports.

As OSU’s collegiate recreation programs celebrate our centennial year, we reflect on the many supportive and lasting relationships that have formed our current identity.
